Collegium says it plans to use the new location as its corporate headquarters. The specialty pharmaceutical startup was founded about a year ago.
The new site, which is approximately 25,000 sf, incorporates all of Collegium's administrative functions as well as research and development including analytical laboratories and formulation development. Collegium says its new facility represents a significant expansion from the company's prior location and will allow the company to support its large number of on-going development projects and increasing staff.
Gov. Mitt Romney has recently been focusing on convincing biotech start ups to expand their operations in the state. Last month he announced that eight biotech companies were planning to expand their operations in Massachusetts.
