The Weitzman Group team of David Levinson, senior vice president, and Chris Thomas, vice president, is holding two letters of intent for the 59,045-sf Buckner Commons at the intersection of Interstate 30 and Buckner Boulevard in East Dallas. Levinson tells GlobeSt.com that lease-up will be reached in early 2004.
This week, doors will open on a 5,000-sf Shoe Department, part of the Shoe Show chain, and Wing Stop in a 1,600-sf spot in the coming weeks. Enrique's Cafe, committing to 2,100 sf, should be up and running in 60 to 90 days while Simply Fashions opens its 3,000-sf space in February 2004. To date, doors have swung open on Staples, Dollar Tree, Dot's and Melrose Stores, Electronics Boutique and Cash Store.
Hollywood Video, with a plan to be open by Thanksgiving, signed a five-year lease as did most others in the new development, which has Wal-Mart and Sam's Club as its neighbors for a top drawing card. The project is getting $21 per sf on the average for spaces facing Interstate 30 and $17 per sf for sites facing Sam's Club.
Dan Shoevlin with Henry S. Miller Commercial in Dallas represented Hollywood Video in the negotiations. The 6.5-acre Buckner Commons is owned by English & Continental of Boulder, CO.
