The properties are the 186-unit Del Mar Terrace Apartments at 81-720 Avenue 46 in Indio and the 176-unit Sunrise Terrace Apartments at 311 S. Sunrise Way here, both of which the buyers acquired from private trusts, according to Jim Rosten, president of Kennedy Wilson Properties Ltd. and Bob Hart, senior managing director for Kennedy Wilson's West Coast Acquisitions & Asset Management group. The sales were brokered by Sean Deasey of CB Richard Ellis' Ontario office.

The Kennedy Wilson execs say they will refurbish and improve the projects' exterior and common areas and enhance the individual units to a higher level of renovation that will make both complexes directly competitive with other projects in the surrounding area.

Del Mar Terrace Apartments was built in 1987 and is a garden-style complex consisting of 14 three-story buildings on approximately nine landscaped acres with three swimming pools, four spas, a clubhouse, fitness center, laundry facilities and total of 272 parking spaces.

Sunrise Terrace Apartments was built in 1972 and is situated on three landscaped acres consisting of four separate secured three-story buildings. The complex includes three swimming pools, sport courts, shuffleboard, saunas, gym, recreation room and gated parking. The property is less than a mile from Downtown and the major tourist destination area known as Palm Canyon Drive.
