Because of its location facing a World Heritage site dating from the 11th Century, the design by Norman Foster is deliberately low-rise and low-key. Tower Place consists of two separate buildings linked by a public atrium. It provides 360,000 sf of offices and 30,000 sf of retail and restaurant accommodation.
Tower Place is located in the heart of the insurance district of the City of London, and the entire office element of the project was pre-leased to Marsh & McLennan Companies, the international insurance broker.
The deal is part of a flurry of activity in the City investment market as investors seek to capitalise on demand from private and international investors before an expected rise in interest rates.
