"When you think about the food-related businesses that originated in Michigan and that have made a positive impact upon the industry's image, Salvaggio's comes to mind," says company president Kirk Taylor.

The development is one of several that are popping up along the divided highway. A Home Depot store is now under development about a mile to the east and a Wal-Mart store--both in excess of 100,000 sf--opened this summer. The Home Depot is in Macomb Township and the Wal-Mart is in Chesterfield Township.
