Miller Johnson, Steichen & Kinnard will move into the building in December, taking the 30th and 31st floors of the building, according to Mike Perkins, VP of office brokerage for Welsh.

Welsh represented Miller Johnson, Steichen & Kinnard in the deal, while the owner of Dain Rauscher Plaza, Brookfield Development, was represented by Brent Habeck of Brookfield.

"This is one of the largest assignments this year in downtown Minneapolis," Perkins says. "A transaction of this size certainly creates optimism about the recovery of the lagging office market in the downtown Minneapolis area. I would expect other assignments of this magnitude to follow."

Perkins says the space had been occupied by the Minneapolis law firm of Winthrop & Weinstine, and was "gorgeous space."

Welsh Cos. is a Bloomington, MN-based commercial real estate company that has more than 312 professionals with a variety of expertise with offices in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Columbus, OH. Welsh is an affiliate of NAI, a multinational network of commercial real estate professionals.
