Pat Ryan, president of locally based Ryan Cos., will talk with Michael Desiato, editor-in-chief of Real Estate Media, about real estate, business and life in general through the prism of successes, challenges and lessons learned.

"The idea is to talk about what motivates him or who he looks up to, not just about hard core real estate deals," says Richard Kelley, director of the real estate media conference series for Real Estate Media. "It's a little different feature than what you see at other real estate conferences."

Desiato has hosted similar up close and personal discussion at RealShare conferences in other markets, including one in June with Sam Zell, chairman of Equity Office Properties Trust, at RealShare Chicago.

Kelley expects more than 200 to attend the inaugural conference market, which will be held Tuesday morning at the Marriott City Center hotel at 30 S. 7th St.

RealShare Minneapolis is aimed at providing information and networking opportunities for those who work in the commercial real estate industry, and will feature a variety of top commercial real estate professionals in the Twin Cities. Aside from the Ryan discussion, other presentations include: a town hall meeting on the Twin Cities real estate market condition and opportunities; brokerage strategies and innovations; survival tips; financing trends and their market impact; and investment sales.

The half-day conference is sponsored by Real Estate Media, the New York-based publishers of Real Estate Forum, Real Estate MID-AMERICA and GlobeSt.com.

Real Estate Media recently relaunched its Real Estate Chicago magazine to Real Estate MID-AMERICA, thereby adding a variety of midwestern cities, including Minneapolis/St. Paul, to its coverage of Chicago. In addition, GlobeSt.com, Real Estate media's commercial real estate website, recently relaunched Minneapolis as one of the cities it covers on a daily basis.

The Minnesota chapter of NAIOP is a partner with Real Estate Media in RealShare Minneapolis. The conference is sponsored by Chicago Title Insurance Co., Ryan Cos., Madison Marquette, Opus Northwest LLC, and US Bank.
