In September, the Minneapolis-based restaurant chain opened its fourth unit, an 8,900 sf restaurant/microbrewery that can seat 250 guests in West Des Moines, IA.

Now the chain has plans to open restaurants in Cedar Rapids, IA, later this month; Davenport, IA, in January; Lincoln, NE, in April; Maple Grove, MN, in June; Omaha, NE, in September; and Wichita, KS, in November 2004.

"With this new prototype building completed, we are now ready to aggressively expand our concept," says Steve Wagenheim, president and CEO of Granite City Food & Brewery.

Granite City Food & Brewery casual dining restaurants feature made-from-scratch food, handcrafted beers and a broad menu of traditional and regional foods.
