Lance Kelley, building inspector for the city, tells GlobeSt.com that the city had originally put the property--which was formerly the site for a nightclub--out to bid with the hopes that the developer would build a hotel. There was one bid, but Kelley says that the deal fell through and the city issued a new request for proposal that didn't include a hotel.

Charles Lightbody and Vincent DeCesare, both local developers, plan to build a four- to five-story building that would have a mix of office and retail space. Kelley notes that according to the local zoning laws, the building could go as much as five stories higher. He emphasizes that the developers are in the process of finalizing their plans with the city and it is possible that the building will be taller.
