The Riverdale store represents a new format designed for off-mall locations and will feature greater shopping convenience with wide aisles, improved lighting and big new signs that make it easier to locate major brands like Worthington, South Pole, Stafford, Bisou-Bisou, Arizona Jean Co., Mudd, KitchenAid and Oshkosh.
The store layout focuses attention on JC Penney's dominant assortments in key areas such as jeans, shoes, bedding and bath accessories, children's apparel, women's and men's sportswear. The store's full-service salon will offer professional hair styling services and salon-quality products.
"This area has a large and growing number of our target customers--busy, two-career families who are looking for quality and great value--so we knew we needed to be here," says Jay Neuroth, the store manager.
J.C. Penney Corp. has, as of Oct. 25, 1,038 JC Penney department stores throughout the US, Puerto Rico and Mexico, and 56 Renner department stores in Brazil.
