Charles DeSantis of the commercial properties group in Charles Dunn's West Los Angeles office says the building will serve as the new home for the community center, which is expected to move into the building in the second quarter of 2004. DeSantis says the buyer has plans to renovate the property both internally and externally before occupying it.

DeSantis represented the seller, an individual investor. The buyer, Ocean Park Community Center, was represented by Robin Jordan of The Real Estate Group.

The Ocean Park Community Center will be used as a transitional housing facility for formally homeless individuals, DeSantis says.

The steel frame building was built in 1963 and was vacant at the time of the sale.
