Eric Powers and Bret Nelson of NAI Capital Commercial say the new retail tenants, which all signed for space at the soon-to-be-built Village at Towne Centre, include Western Dental Services Inc., Starbucks, New City Cleaners, San Joaquin Wellness and Medical Group, and CITA Development. The combined value of the leases was $3.5 million. Village at Towne Centre, due to be built between 23rd and 24th Streets and M Street, will be a 43,000sf, four-building retail and office complex with parking for 220 cars.

Slated to open next year, the center will include two two-story buildings with retail on the ground floor and offices on the second floor in spaces of 800 sf to 12,800 sf. The other two buildings will be single-story with 2,295 sf of retail in spaces of 1,147 sf to 2,295 sf. The center will be built on a parcel formerly occupied by an automotive dealership at the entrance to Highway 178 in Bakersfield. Powers and Nelson represented the landlord, Treble LLC, as well as New City Cleaners, San Joaquin Wellness and Medical Group, and CITA Development.

Western Dental was represented by Scott Wells of Colliers Tingey and Tanner Tingey of True North Properties. Starbucks, represented by Epsteen Associates in association with Brad Freeman of NAI Capital Commercial. CITA Development is the contractor, with Paul Dhanens Architecture designing the project.
