The company will build a $1.8-million headquarters on a two-acre site in the business center on the city's North End. The 30,000-sf building will include office, storage and manufacturing space.

Susan Wohlk, CFO for Twin City Glass Contractors Inc., says the growing company wanted to buy or build, rather than continue renting. She says the firm's owners liked the Great Northern area because of the easy access to freeways and highways.

Construction is to begin in late March 2004 and be completed in the fall of that year.

Twin City Glass manufactures windows and doors for commercial buildings. Wohlk says it had four employees three years ago and now has 59 employees.

Custom Drywall, the first business in the Port's Great Northern Business Center, opened about a year ago.
