The fund-raiser, planned as a celebration of life for McCulley,has collected $230,000 for Common Cares Cancer Foundation, whichwas selected in 2001 as the benefactor by the Dallas-based WeitzmanGroup's executive vice president who died in April. This year'sgoal is $100,000. The charitable event will be staged from 6 to10:30 p.m. at Sipango Restaurant & Bar at 4503 Travis St. inDallas.

The promoters' common vision is the event will be "the" retailcommunity's holiday fund-raiser each year. The committee isspearheaded by Tim Hughes of Falcon Realty Advisors in Dallas.

Common Cares' vision for the future is to set up cancer supportcenters throughout the metroplex. It has used Karen's Deal fundingto participate in breast cancer awareness outreach programs, createadditional support groups for those living with cancer, theirfamilies and caregivers, provide electronic displays on 600 DallasArea Rapid Transit buses, help patients participate in clinicaltrials in the US and distribute thousands of brochures through theDallas Public Library.
