The high-rise, situated on a 1.1-acre parcel at Wilshire Boulevard and Malcolm Avenue in Westwood, is being designed by Nadel Architects Inc., with lobby and common areas designed by Darrell Schmitt Design Associates. It will include 80 residential units averaging 3,300 sf, with some units measuring up to 8,000 sf. The condos will be priced from approximately $1.2 million to $9 million.

Construction of the high-rise is expected to be completed in about 18 to 24 months. The developers say the building will rival a five-star hotel in its elegance, including features such as an elevator system with two private cars to each floor, a state-of-the-art health club, wine room and storage, a library, a banquet room for entertaining and catered events, landscaped gardens and terraces, a pool and spa area, a 24-hour concierge, valet and security.

The Fifield Cos. is one of Chicago's largest office and condominium high-rise builders and maintains its California headquarters in Irvine. The company has completed 50 buildings comprising more than 10 million sf, whose total sales exceeded $3 billion. Fifield is headed by Steven Fifield, president and founder, who established the company in 1977.

California Landmark, headed by principals Kahan and Steve Erdman, is a 15-year-old development and investment firm that was founded in 1988. It has extensive experience in the West Los Angeles condominium market. Its developments have included more than $250 million in infill attached low- and mid-rise residential condominiums in the past decade. With its partners, it plans to introduce more than $300 million of new residential high-rise and mid-rise projects in the next two years. The firm also has more than 150,000 sf of industrial-use product under development in the rapidly growing Ventura County market.
