It's a coveted designation established by CoreNet Global which calls itself the world's largest organization (7,500 members on five continents) devoted to the ongoing education of corporate real estate professionals. DeCouto was one of 66 international graduates in the SLCR class of 2003. CoreNet Global set up the program in 2002.
"The new SLCR program is focused on the development of essential leadership skills for those positioning themselves for a greater role in their organization," says Becky Haliden, CoreNet Global's curriculum and faculty development director. "It is designed to broaden business perspective, enhance strategic approach to decision making, hone financial analysis skills and expand leadership abilities."
To earn the SLCR certificate, candidates must complete 80 hours of course work, pass assessments following each seminar and receive a passing grade of 80%.
CoreNet Global members manage $1.2 trillion in worldwide corporate assets, totaling 700 billion sf of owned and leased office, industrial and other space. CoreNet Global operates in Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and North America, including Canada.
