Jerry McCloskey scooped up the offering before it became public knowledge that it was for sale, striking a quick deal with the automotive parts retailer's parent company, CSK Auto Inc. of Phoenix. The firm owns and operates more than 1,100 auto parts stores in 19 states under the names Checker Auto Parts, Schuck's Auto Supply and Kragen Auto Parts.

Tracy Cartledge, a vice president in Phoenix for Dallas-based Trammell Crow Co., tells GlobeSt.com that the lure of a 15-year lease with Checker appealed to McCloskey, who was satisfying a 1031 Exchange with the newly built store at Apache Trail and Ironwood Road.

Assisting the buyer in the transaction was Cartledge along with Trammell Crow vice presidents Bob Buckley and Steve Lindley plus associates Greg Mayer and Michael Kitlica. Paul Holland and Stephanie Davis, both with Colliers International's Phoenix office, represented CSK Auto Inc.
