Premier Aviation will be an ExxonMobil Avitat fixed-base operation for business and general aviation aircraft, crews and passengers. Avitat is a network of fixed-base operations at more than 800 airports in the US, Canada and overseas.
The park will be open 24 hours a day seven days a week, including holidays. Services and amenities will include more than five acres of secured ramp space; a passenger lobby; a pilot lounge with a "quiet room" and a relaxation area with a television, VCR and over-stuffed recliners; a pre-flight briefing and weather room; shower facilities; a conference room available upon request; a restaurant and gourmet catering; a refreshment center; an on-site rental car facility; and an affiliation with the Muvico Theaters, Boomers Entertainment Centers and Fairfield Inn next door."We are delighted to break ground on Premier Aviation Park, featuring a new FBO that will bring the business and general aviation experience to a totally new height in Boca Raton," Premier Aviation president Hamid Hashemi says in a statement. "As local business executives who frequently use private general aviation facilities, we saw a real need at Boca Raton Airport to provide an underserved, discerning public with state-of-the-art facilities, an unmatched level of outstanding service, innovative amenities and competitive fuel pricing."Mike Melvin, executive vice president of Premier Aviation, notes that the project is expected to benefit the local economy. "Everyone stands to benefit from Premier Aviation's plans, not just owners, pilots and passengers traveling to and from the airport," Melvin says. "The launch of a new and thriving FBO will result in a positive economic impact on our community, including increased government revenues, employment opportunities and interest from major corporations that are considering relocation and/or expansion possibilities."The on-site leadership team includes Ron Buccarelli, vice president of operations and a delegate of the National Business Aircraft Association for 15 years, and Jennifer Kennedy, general manger. They are both licensed pilots and flight instructors. The two have owned and managed several corporate aircraft.
Principals of Premier Aviation unveiled development and construction plans, features, amenities and renderings, as well as introduced management and services providers at a ground-breaking ceremony held Dec. 12, days before the 100th anniversary of man's first flight at Kitty Hawk.
