The committee is required to include at least 17 members, one from each council district, and additional members needed to ensure representation in each of the seven counties, and a chair. At least half of the members must be local elected officials. The committee will meet monthly. The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the seven-county metropolitan area.

Craig Morris, elected official, Lakeland; Michael Noonan, Mendota Heights; Deborah Haugh, St. Paul; Nancy Schouweiler, elected official, Inver Grove Heights; and Eino Ristola, elected official, Hampton Township.
