Brvenik, who has been with Prime Retail since 2000 and held the titles of president, CFO and treasurer, effectively replaces Glenn D. Reschke as CEO and chairman of the group. Before joining the company, he had been a senior manager for the Syracuse, NY-based Pyramid Management Group for 13 years.

"He has a strong track record in this business and is well-respected both among those at Prime Retail and in the industry as a whole," according to Lightstone president/CEO David Lichtenstein.

The acquisition of Prime Retail brought a portfolio of 36 retail outlet centers totaling more than 10 million sf into the Lightstone fold. Beside the Prime holdings, the latter owns and manages 16,000 apartments and a commercial portfolio of more than nine million sf in 18 states and Puerto Rico.
