Bill Goodwin, a senior vice president in the Philadelphia office of CBRE, arranged the deal for the seller, CHR Hansen Inc., a Danish maker of ingredient products for the food, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries that has its North American headquarters in Milwaukee. Further terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Chemglass, a maker of specialty glassware and equipment for the glassblowing industry as well as for scientific research and medical labs, will use its newly acquired facility for a combination of production and distribution purposes. The building is located just across from Chemglass' headquarters at 3861 North Mill Rd., and the acquisition represents a major expansion.
The building is situated on a 12-acre site that provides for future expansion, according to Goodwin. Within its 81,312 sf is a built-out office component of just under 4,000 sf, and the warehouse area has 26-ft ceiling heights.
