The most interesting pick was bringing in Herbert M. Tanzman, a legend in Garden State real estate, as a senior vice president. With a career literally spanning 60 years, he founded and owned Herbert M. Tanzman Realtors, later Jacobson Goldfarb & Tanzman, for most of that period before selling the company to Newmark a couple of years ago.
Indeed, Tanzman stayed on at the renamed Newmark-JGT as a director, and the JGT portion of the name was dropped just last year. Tanzman also served on the New Jersey Real Estate Commission under four governors. Tanzman says he wants "to expand our influence in the growing Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex county markets."
Also, C. Beth Krinsky and Judith Cohen have come over as senior vice presidents. Krinsky, a managing director at Newmark for 14 years, specializes in the sale and lease of office and retail properties, while Cohen, with Newmark for 18 years is a retail specialist.
Jack Sievers also comes over with the title of SVP after a 22-year stint, specializing in the sale and lease of office and industrial properties. And Terence J. Kenny joins Weichert Commercial as an industrial specialist with the title of sales associate.
