Lexecon Signs 22,000-SF Lease

CAMBRIDGE, MA-Lexecon leases 21,550 sf at Charles Square, 20 University Rd. The economic consulting firm signed a four-year lease for space in the Harvard Square building, which is owned by Carpenter & Co.

Charles Square is located in Harvard Square near the MBTA station, Memorial Drive and the Charles River. "In the Harvard Square area, Charles Square offers unparalleled amenities, making it a very attractive location," says Varholak.

Vacancy rates for office space in Cambridge remain at approximately 22% according to Grubb & Ellis's most recent statistics. Leases rates for this deal were not available, but the average asking rent for similar space in the area is about $19 per sf.
