Michael Kassinger and Char Sharp-Pfeifer of Sperry Van Ness represented the seller, with the buyer represented by Mark Maniar of Property Gallery. The 66-room Royal is at 1700 S. Palm Canyon.

The buyer was attracted to this property because of its premier condition and ideal location, says Kassinger. He notes that the seller recently renovated the property, which includes an exercise room, a large heated pool, a guest laundry, and other features. It is located against the base of the San Jacinto Mountains and is minutes from the center of downtown, the Convention Center, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, and the Palm Springs International Airport. The sale of the Royal Sun comes at a time when the hotel industry is growing in the Inland Empire, where some of the states largest hotels have opened in recent years.
