The expansion now planned will add a story to the top of the building, which is located on Maple, west of Woodward. To expand the building another way would have required the addition of residential space to the building, which Fuller isn't interested in. He says the market is already saturated with high-end loft apartments.
Fuller's Central Park Properties also owns the former Jacobson's building on Maple and he said that building is being renovated for office space. Jacobson's, a Michigan-based upscale retailer, went bankrupt and out of business in 2003.
