Before starting construction, however, the project has to win approval from DeKalb County commissioners who are reviewing the newly arrived plans. Principals in the joint venture are Charles K. Schmandt of Archetype Management Co., which is designing the complex, and Peter Chang of Atlanta Chinatown Investments.
The 32-acre development in north DeKalb County is on Catalina Drive between Chamblee Tucker and Chamblee Dunwoody roads, a half mile from the Chamblee MARTA station. The 14-building project would also house restaurants, a public market and specialty shops.
