Craig J. Scheuerle, SVP of the local office of Grubb & Ellis Co., represented Finley in the negotiations. Amerimar Enterprises, the locally based owner of the property, was represented in house. The Italian Renaissance-style building across from City Hall was completed in 1910 and is best known for its grand interior courtyard.
Finley has achieved a number of successes downtown and in the suburbs. In 1997, Stephen C. Finley, president, acquired the Ballroom at the Ben Franklin Hotel in Center City and installed his brother, Tom, as executive chef and manager. The ballroom hosted the 1997 Presidential Summit luncheon for Youth of America, attended by then-president Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton, Barbara Bush, past president Gerald Ford and Colin Powell.
During OpSail 2000, Finley supplied food and beverage service at the Penn's Landing event that took place on the Philadelphia and Camden, NJ sides of the Delaware River, accommodating approximately two million people. The same year, the caterer served more than 88,000 visitors who occupied temporary housing at the Naval Business Center during the 2000 Republican National Convention. Finley also holds the exclusive beverage and food contract for Springfield Country Club on Sproul Rd. in Springfield, PA.
