The new condos will go up at East Angelino Avenue and South San Fernando Boulevard, on a one-block site bounded by South San Fernando Boulevard, Olive Avenue, Third Street and East Angeleno Avenue. They are being designed by architectural firm Nestor & Gaffney of Santa Ana and are expected to be ready for occupancy in about a year.

The Olson project marks what the company describes as the newest phase in the progression of Downtown into a destination retail, entertainment, employment and residential district. The development comprises three buildings consisting of a mix of townhomes, lofts and flats, with floor plans from approximately 955 sf to 1,924 sf including two and three bedrooms with one to three baths.

The project site is a short distance from many of the city's entertainment companies, including NBC Studios, Warner Bros., Disney, Clear Channel Entertainment and Nickelodeon. Also nearby are the Burbank Metro Station as well as new restaurants, coffee houses, boutique shops, movie theaters, and the Media Center Mall. The 1.2-million-sf mall is being renovated and repositioned by Beverly Hills-based Crown Realty & Development with the addition of two restaurants, a face-lift and other improvements, including a new mall entry visible down the length of San Fernando Boulevard. The Olson project and Crown's redevelopment of the mall are among a number of projects changing the landscape of Burbank, including Los Angeles-based Champion Developments new AMC movie theater complex on a four-acre site along Magnolia and San Fernando boulevards.

In addition to Village Walk, the Olson Co. is developing a variety of neighborhoods in development in Southern California, including projects in Fountain Valley, Claremont, Fullerton, Yorba Linda, Santa Ana, Carson, Pomona, Covina and Valencia.
