National Realty & Development Corp., based in Purchase, NY, is the redeveloper of the site. Of Wal-Mart's 31 New Jersey units, eight are located in shopping centers owned and managed by NRDC. The latter is also currently developing a Wal-Mart-anchored shopping center in Rockaway, where the discounter will be joined by such other retailers as Bed Bath & Beyond, Old Navy, Joyce Leslie and Sleepy's. A February 2005 opening is anticipated.
Other shopping centers NRDC is currently developing in New Jersey, without Wal-Mart, are the Target-anchored, 242,000-sf Hadley Shopping Center II in South Plainfield; and the 110,000-sf Commons in Phillipsburg.
