Steve Niggeman and Tom Londres of Metro negotiated this lease and are named exclusive tenant representatives for the Richmond, VA-based retailer throughout Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware. "We are pleased to add Circuit City to the growing list of national retailers that we exclusively represent in the tri-state area," says Daniel J. Hughes, Metro's president. "Our current focus is the expansion of Circuit City stores into new regional markets and the relocation of some of the older prototypical locations," he adds.
Circuit City is among the nation's largest retailers of brand-name consumer electronics, personal computers, software, movies, music and games. It currently operates 612 superstores and 13 mall-based Express stores nationwide.
Terms of the Wilkes-Barre Commons' lease are undisclosed. On condition of anonymity, brokers familiar with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton retail market tell GlobeSt.com the rental rate is probably between $12 and $15 per sf.
