Household International leased space at 431 Lakeview Ct., as did Metrodocs S.C., which signed a 15,005-sf deal. Nashville, TN-based Caremark Inc. leased 15,235 sf at 1400 Business Center Dr.
Although terms were not disclosed, asking net lease rates elsewhere within Opus Corp.'s 300-acre Kensington Business Center is in the neighborhood of $11 per sf.
Prospect Heights-based Household International will use its space to house 300 information technology employees. The company already leased space in a neighboring building.
"Assembling that much contiguous space involved renegotiating one tenant's lease and relocating it to another space within the building; negotiating a lease termination with a large-space tenant; then negotiating a sublease termination with that tenant's subtenant," explains Colliers Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc. vice president Lawrence J. Meldman, who represented General Investment & Development Cos.
Equis Corp. senior vice president Kevin Duckler represented Household International. NAI Hiffman vice president James Nesbitt handled negotiations for Metrodocs S.C. Julien J. Studley, Inc. senior managing director John Conerty represented Caremark Inc.
