The property is currently undergoing a $3-million renovation. This is the 21st conversion of a Wyndham-owned asset to the Wyndham brand, a move that reduces franchise and management fees that Wyndham pays to its competitors. "Converting this hotel to our proprietary brand meets two core business goals," says Fred J. Kleisner, Wyndham's chairman and CEO. They are: "raising internal earnings by reducing fees paid to competitors and further expanding the Wyndham brand portfolio in both new and proven markets." He adds, "our proprietary branded assets consistently outperform the company's non-proprietary branded products."
Wyndham Harrisburg-Hershey assumes all of the brand's standards and programs, such as high-speed Internet access, cordless speaker phones, upgraded desk chairs, mattresses and other amenities. Wyndham owns, leases, manages and franchises upscale and luxury hotel and resort properties in the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.
