The 161-unit project will include 90 independent-living apartments, 53 assisted-living apartments and an 18-unit residence for seniors with Alzheimer's. Presbyterian Homes will own 80% of the project, located in Chanhassen, and will manage the SummerWood community. The units range from $765 a month for a one-bedroom, 705-sf apartment to $2,295 for the top-of-the-line two-bedroom, 1,738-sf apartment.
The complex is designed to create the effect of a European village, according to Presbyterian Homes & Services. The complex will offer a village market and delicatessen, a fitness center, a theater, a chapel, a clubroom, a library and computer lab, a wood shop, a beauty and barbershop and a guest suite.
