Heartland Partners has sued Milwaukee's Redevelopment Authority, which paid $3.55 million for the land in November 2003, and the case is expected to be heard next year, officials of the Chicago-based real estate partnership report.

That is not the only case on the docket for Heartland Partners, a successor company to the Milwaukee Road Railroad. A lawsuit involving the company and its former president and chief executive officer, Edwin Jacobson, also is expected to go to trial next year, according to Heartland Partners.

Along with 13,000 acres of railroad right-of-way, the company owns 19 –acres in Glendale, WI, a suburb north of Milwaukee, which it has on the market.
