"With the saturation of many larger brands in markets across the US, we're experiencing a large increase in franchise conversion inquiries, and our pipeline is full with upcoming franchise conversions as many hotel owners are making the decision to convert their assets to the Wyndham brand," says Fred J. Kleisner, Wyndham's chairman and CEO.
The Wyndham at Valley Forge and Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza are both currently undergoing renovations. Upgrades are also planned for Wyndham Reading. Inns of Distinction, a hotel management and consulting firm headed by Frank D. Reagoso Jr., will manage the property.
Originally opened in 1928, the 104-room hotel and conference center at 5th and Washington Streets in Downtown Reading is the preferred hotel for, and within walking distance of the Sovereign Center and Sovereign Performing Arts Center. It also offers easy access to nearby outlet malls, historic sites and the Dutch Amish countryside. It has approximately 9,500 sf of meeting space, a fitness center and onsite restaurant and tavern.
"This property always deserved to be a focal point for the revitalization of Downtown Reading, as it has always played an important part in the lives of so many people in Berks County," says John Rosenthal, chairman and partner with Richard Barnhart of Genesis Ventures I.
