Don Valk of Dallas acquired the site from Winston Capital Corp., also from Dallas, which bought the land four years ago as an investment play for a grocery-anchored shopping center, Paul Harmon of Dallas-based Henry S. Commercial tells GlobeSt.com. The plan changed as grocery-anchored retail developers started pulling back to primarily "Main and Main" corners. The just-bought land takes up the southwest corner of Clark and Camp Wisdom roads on the Dallas side of the line.

Harmon says "to make the deal work" from the buyer's financial standpoint that Winston Capital held onto a one-acre tract on the hard corner. Winston's now looking for a buyer. The buyer's broker, Rick Ugarte of Bowers & Associates in Arlington, says the build-out plan has yet to be defined, including groundbreaking. The anticipation is the project, with retail backing up to mini-warehouses, will break ground by year's end.
