The terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, the Edina, MN-based Lund Food Holdings expects to unveil its new convenience food offering at two stores this fall, and then complete the rollout to the rest of the two chains in 2005.
Lettuce Entertain You owns and licenses nearly 50 restaurants in the US and Japan. In the Twin Cities, the firm owns Wildfire, Twin City Grill, Magic Pan and Tucci Benucch. In addition, Lettuce Entertain You has created more than 100 food concepts.
Earlier this spring, Edina-based Rainbow Foods picked up Leeann Chin, planning to put the chain's carryout restaurants at two Rainbow grocery stores in July, and in at least another 10 other markets by the end of the year.
Lund Food Holdings operates eight Lunds and 12 Byerly's. It also runs three Rick's Markets in the Twin Cities area.
