Southern Management president Steven Levin says his firm will manage and lease the center located at the high-volume intersection of Interstate 75 and Newberry Road, minutes from the University of Florida campus. Toys R Us, the Gator Theaters and Starbucks are the center's anchors.
The acquisition brings SMD's retail portfolio in the Gainesville/Ocala area to more than 400,000 sf, Levin says. SMD owns and manages shopping centers totaling 4.5 million sf in Florida, Tennessee and Indiana. The company's portfolio also includes 2,800 rental apartment units in Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky.
