The latest activity is Richard Amon's move from the 1.1-million-sf, 50-story One Atlantic Center in Midtown to the 2.2-million-sf, five building Concourse Corporate Center in the Central Perimeter submarket.
Locally based Cousins Properties Inc. hired Amon as director of property management after he left Houston-based PM Realty Group three weeks ago. New York-based Teachers Insurance Annuity Association retained Cousins in 2000 to lease and manage its Concourse Corporate Center.
Brian Bowron, who managed Concourse, moves to Trammell Crow Co.'s property management division. George R. Lipscomb, a former executive at Carter and Associates here, replaced Amon at One Atlantic Center which is 81% leased, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.
Cousins officials wouldn't disclose the occupancy level at Concourse but area brokers tell GlobeSt.com it is in the 85% range. Effective rents at both buildings are in the $23 to $25-per-sf range, area brokers estimate. Sumitomo Life Realty (NY) Inc. owns One Atlantic Center.
Amon, a 25-year property management professional who has managed an estimated 10 million sf in his career to date, says he left PM Realty for better career growth opportunities at Cousins. "Cousins Properties has always been viewed as an industry leader in development, management and leasing; has exceptional leadership; and provides an extraordinary growth platform," Amon says. "One Atlantic Center is unarguably one of the most remarkable architectural structures in the country and, after achieving ownership's goals and objectives, this seemed an opportune time to move forward."
During his five-year tenure at One Atlantic Center, Amon assisted in the leasing and lease renewals of several major law firms. They included Holland Knight, Alston & Bird, and Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy. The total space leased was 480,000 sf. For his effort, BOMA Atlanta gave Amon the Office Building of the Year Award.
Before his One Atlantic Center stint, among was project director for Coca-Cola Co.'s 2.6-million-sf world headquarters campus in Atlanta.
