Vacancy in the East Loop has soared 2.5 percentage points in the last six months to 18.8%, according to a recent market report by Trammell Crow Co., to become the softest Downtown submarket. The West Loop has seen an improvement in overall vacancy to 13.6%, according to the report. Meanwhile, Central Loop vacancy continues to rise, to 18.4%.
The 619,788-sf 230 W. Monroe St. recently underwent a lobby renovation, but 46% of the space is available. Gary Denenberg and Thomas McCarthy of MB Real Estate handle leasing at the building while Lyle Levin of Julien J. Studley, Inc. represented First Northern Credit Union.
Prescott Medical Communications Group will nearly triple the amount of space it has at 180 N. LaSalle St. when it moves to 205 N. Michigan Ave. next year. CB Richard Ellis brokers Brad Serot and Mark Keebler, along with Brett Opie of Development Resources Inc. represented the marketing communications company in negotiations with Mike Watts of JF McKinney, who represented BTS Owners LLC.
