Tom Bond of locally based NAI Geis Realty Group is the managing and leasing agent for the 12-story, 840,000-sf building. He represented the building owner, Independence Square Venture Limited Partnership, in the negotiations. Matt Frederick, VP with locally based Arden Real Estate Services, represented the tenant.
Maria Gallagher and Michael Kuhn, formerly associated with Pileggi On the Square, operate Salon Thalia, which provides European spa services for men and women. Other retail tenants on the ground floor of the office building are J. Cabot Gourmet, Philadelphia Diamond Co., Romano's Hairstyles, Shaan's Cards & Gifts, Curtis Health Club and the Deli at Curtis Center.
Cyrus Curtis, publisher of the Saturday Evening Post, Ladies Home Journal and other magazines, commissioned Curtis Center as headquarters for his company, and its was completed in 1921. It overlooks both Washington Square and Independence Square. The lobby contains a 15- by 49-ft glass mosaic, "Dream Garden," created by Maxfield Parrish and Louis Comfort Tiffany.
