The firm's newest daily online information source will deliver original and hard-hitting staff-written articles, exclusive commentary and opinion columns to a targeted audience of more than 50,000 executive-level retail decision-makers. "Our objective is to make GlobeStRETAIL.com the must-read for shopping center professionals and retailers," says Jonathan A. Schein, president and CEO of the New York City-based commercial real estate publishing entity.

According to Michael G. Desiato, group managing director and editor in chief of Real Estate Media Inc., the strategy is to "build on the news authority already established by GlobeSt.com with its award-winning content. Just as GlobeSt.com redefined the nature of real estate news and broadened it horizontally with local coverage around the nation, GlobeStRETAIL will broaden it vertically, drilling further into this highly specialized market sector with the same quality of news and analysis.

"Our retail team will go behind the scenes of the shopping-center industry," he continues. "They'll track the latest leasing, finance, sales and development transactions and monitor the strategies behind trends and business innovations throughout the Southeast, Southwest, West, Midwest and Northeast retail property markets."

The site will also offer insider commentary on the most relevant issues of the day. "Our contributing writers will take readers behind the news to explore the driving economic indicators, demographics, consumer issues and regulations," Desiato explains. He adds that the editorial team is currently shaping up, and a complete roster of veteran reporters will be unveiled shortly.

Additional content will include: one-on-one interviews with the shopping-center industry's movers and shakers; data and analysis of current finance and equity trends, including sales prices and cap rates; the tenant outlook, including top strategies and emerging retail formats; performance profiles of key retailing sectors; REIT ownership issues and credit-tenant lease updates.

"We are currently in negotiations with several top-level shopping-center business journalists to lead GlobeStRETAIL.com's editorial coverage," Desiato says.

In terms of the advertising team, Schein revealed that veteran sales professional Gail Warren has been retained as advertising director for GlobeStRETAIL.com. She will report directly to Geoff Hahn, national sales manager for GlobeSt.com. Prior to this appointment, Warren served as Midwest regional sales manager for Real Estate Forum. "Gail assumes this post as we expand our presence and build on the GlobeSt.com brand. No other publishing entity can deliver timely news in such a manner."
