The largest property, being sold by sealed bid with an Aug. 11 deadline, is a 10-building, 530,471-sf industrial complex in Elmira, NY that is generating $198,636 a year in gross rent. Originally built in 1897, the property has been used by companies including Remington Rand, which made typewriters there; and the US government, which built an addition in 1942 to make equipment used in World War II bombing raids.
Also in the state, two buildings on 30 acres in Argyle, NY totaling 94,000 sf are being offered by sealed bid with the same Aug. 11 deadline. However, Tyco is selling them on a sale-leaseback basis for at least six months at $2 per sf. The company uses the buildings to manufacture medical equipment.
Sealed bids also are due Aug. 11 on a vacant 28,505-sf building on five acres in Glen Rock, PA, 30 miles north of Baltimore. Also due that day are bids on a 22,981-sf warehouse in South Haven, MI, 30 miles south of Grand Rapids.
Sheldon Good & Co. will conduct an open outcry auction in Charlotte Aug. 10 to sell two buildings in Monroe, NC's downtown. On both sides of the 300 block of Crowell Street, the 10 acres are being pitched as a redevelopment opportunity.
