The insurance company's industrial portfolio includes one more asset in the I-55 Corridor, a building at 365 Crossing Rd. Sony's distribution center is a nine-year-old building between two I-55 interchanges with 30-foot clear ceiling heights and 22 loading docks.
Although terms of the long-term deal were not disclosed, industrial space in the area leases for around $4 per sf. Tom Barbera and Jason West from Trammell Crow Co. represented Sun Life Financial in negotiations with Aileen Sandstedt of GVA Williams, who represented Sony Music Entertainment.
