The property was acquired by Cummings Properties in the late 1990s. The company redeveloped the old United Shoe Machinery Co. headquarters into the office complex, which now houses over 400 businesses and three colleges. The center is located near Route 128 off Route 1A and Route 62.
A representative of the town tells GlobeSt.com that the plan for the 140-room hotel still needs town approval. Cummings Properties had originally proposed building an office building on the site, a plan that had been approved by city's planning board.
