Duke Realty's The Shoppes at Geneva Commons, a 132,652-sf lifestyle center off Randall Road, just south of the Kane County Fairgrounds, already is on the market. Meridian Towne Centre in Aurora, which is part of an office park off Route 59, also could be sold as part of a corporate strategy aimed at beefing up its collection of newer office and industrial assets, either through purchases or development. Duke Realty already is building an industrial spec building in Bolingbrook, company officials note during their second-quarter conference call.
Duke Realty officials say they sold off the bulk of their retail assets in 2001. "There's a good chance you could see us sell substantially all the rest of the retail properties we own this year," says president and chief executive officer Dennis D. Oklak.
