The Cherry Hill, NJ-based food distributor operates more than 20 refrigerated warehouses nationwide. Plans call for expanding this facility to up to 600,000 sf. The land is part of the Saucon division of the 1,000-acre former Bethlehem Steel site. Cleveland-based International Steel Group acquired the property when it bought out all of bankrupt Bethlehem Steel's assets in 2003. LVIP acquired the land tract from International for $4 million.

The state provided $1.5 million for environmental clean-up and infrastructure development. The US Department of Commerce provided a $2-million grant for brownfield clean-up from the federal Economic Development Administration.

LVIP was founded in 1959 by a group of local business leaders to diversify the area's economic base. At that time Bethlehem Steel employed more than 20,000 here.

Since its inception, LVIP has developed six industrial parks on 1,500 acres. Approximately 370 companies, employing about 17,000, are now located in the six parks. LVIP VII is expected to be the largest of the parks, all located in the Bethlehem Business Center.
