The market data is based on Global Real Analytics' 20-year database of detailed information and analysis of more than 190,000 transactions in local markets throughout the US. GRA is generally considered the industry's largest provider of historical transaction data.

Initially, the venture will publish three no-cost analytical reports, including a quarterly National Outlook Index and National Value Index, and a monthly focus report on various property sectors. The reports are available on the website's MarketSource page.

"This data opens up for investors, brokers, financial institutions and other industry professionals a wealth of current and historical information that was not previously available with the ease that GlobeSt.com offers," observes Real Estate Media president and CEO Jonathan A. Schein. "Data offerings have always been a natural extension of GlobeSt.com's broad reach into the industry. Now readers have a breadth and breakdown of analyses it never had before in a format it has never seen before."

But it isn't just about numbers, says Schein. "For investors, information is more than just power, it's survival," he says. "In addition to continued interest by institutional investors, there has been an intense increase in interest by private equity investors looking for commercial real estate opportunities in recent months."

GRA head Jim Sempere agrees. "The huge increase in access to market data and intelligence that will emerge from this alliance will only serve to further level the playing field by giving private investors the same competitive information enjoyed by institutional investors," he says. "Over the past two decades, we have recorded more than 190,000 transactions, including all of the key facts created by the purchase and sale of office buildings, apartment properties, industrial buildings, hotels and other commercial properties in many key global as well as domestic markets. This database, plus our studies in property values backing investment areas like commercial mortgage-backed securities, provides a seamless approach to gathering and evaluating vital market intelligence."
