Designed by Boggs & Partners Architects Inc., the headquarters building features an exterior glass staircase and an underground parking structure to accommodate up to 700 vehicles. The structure was designed to reflect, symbolically, the importance of Sallie Mae's mission.
"What the company does inside that building is enable seven million students to go to college; it is such an incubator of achievement for students in this country to succeed," Boggs & Partners' Joseph Boggs tells GlobeSt.com. "Our goal was to design a building that reflects in its architecture the diversity, outreach and inclusion that the company promotes."
