Fowler was first elected to Congress as a US Representative in a 1977 special election to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Andrew Young. Fowler was later elected to the Senate, where he served from 1987 to 1993. In 1996 he was appointed Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, a position he held for five years. Fowler is currently chairman of the Middle East Institute, a Washington, DC research foundation, and he also heads an international business and law practice.

Meanwhile, Kramont added three to its management staff. John G. Guminski is named VP and director of property management; Scott K. Wilson becomes Southeast regional property manager, and Starr Vernon is appointed director of asset management. Guminski brings 20 years of retail and shopping center experience from posts with Federal Realty Investment Trust, Combined Properties and Glimcher Realty Trust.

Based in Kramont's office at the Village at Mableton in suburban Atlanta, Wilson will be responsible for management and operations at 10 properties with an aggregate of 1.7 million sf in Georgia and South Carolina. His 14 years of experience included positions with South Carolina-based Ahold Real Estate Co. and Atlanta-based BVT Equity Holdings.

Vernon comes from Conshohocken, PA-based Keystone Property Trust, which was recently acquired by Denver-based ProLogis. She has 10 years of experience in financial analysis and asset management and previously held positions with Texas-based American Industrial Properties and Weingarten Realty Investors.
